AQUATECH CEO VENKEE SHARMA APPOINTED TO THE
UNITED STATES – INDIA CEO FORUM
Announcement Made by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross
CANONSBURG, PA, Feb. 13, 2019 – Venkee Sharma, CEO of Aquatech International, has been appointed to serve a two-year term on the United States Section of the U.S. – India CEO Forum. Established in 2005, this Forum provides an opportunity for discussions between the United States and Indian governments to strengthen the economic and commercial relationship between both countries.
The announcement was made by U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, who will co-chair the Forum with Indian Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu. “The U.S.-India CEO Forum is critical to the fruitful commercial relationship and strong economic ties between our two great nations. The incoming U.S. CEOs will bring fresh perspectives to the Forum and help us consider new opportunities to further deepen our cooperation,” he said.
“It is an honor to be part of this CEO Forum, which plays an important role in encouraging economic opportunities and strengthening important business relationships in both our countries. While Aquatech is headquartered in the United States, our global operations include a significant presence in India encompassing design, engineering, technical services, research & development and sales. This affords us a unique and beneficial perspective that we can bring to the Forum,” said Sharma, who will serve a two-year term on the Forum.
Sharma has been at the helm of Aquatech for more than 25 years. During this time, the company has been transformed from a small, regional manufacturer of industrial water treatment equipment into a recognized and respected leader in the global water industry. Today, Aquatech has over 700 employees around the world and has successfully executed over 1,000 water management projects in 60 countries.
“We are committed to providing advanced, cost-effective technologies and solutions that help municipal and industrial customers achieve their goals while at the same time helping them manage their water risk and successfully navigate the challenges of an increasingly water-scarce world,” Sharma added.
Following the planned discussions, the Forum will communicate their joint recommendations to the American and Indian governments.
