Executives Present Two Papers as Part of Technical Program at IDA World Congress
TIANJIN, Oct. 20, 2013 – Aquatech, a global leader in water purification technology for industrial and infrastructure markets, will highlight its solutions used in Coal-to-Chemical (CTX) projects in China as well as other innovative water treatment technologies at the IDA World Congress, Booth A60. Based on the concept of “The Power of Three” – a threefold approach to treat high volume and complex wastewater streams characteristic of those produced at CTX facilities – Aquatech’s system includes advanced biotreatment, advanced membrane technology for more than 90% recovery, and double distributor brine concentrator for higher efficiency.
“The use of coal to produce gas, chemicals and liquids is growing rapidly in China. Wastewater treatment and strategies to maximize reuse are critical issues for CTX facilities, while Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is also being employed to protect the environment. Aquatech is ideally positioned to offer optimized wastewater recycle and ZLD solutions not only to the important coal-to-chemical market but also for other complex wastewater recycle and ZLD requirements in other industries in the Chinese market,” said Tom Tseng, General Manager, Aquatech (Guangzhou) Water Treatment Co. Ltd.
At the World Congress, Aquatech will also showcase its extensive experience and capabilities in recycle/reuse, thermal and membrane desalination, HERO™ High Efficiency Reverse Osmosis, ZLD, unconventional gas, and wastewater reuse. The company is one of very few to offer both thermal and membrane desalination and is well known for its expertise and experience in recycle/reuse. The company also pioneered the development of hybrid ZLD and is a leader in water treatment for both the conventional and unconventional oil and gas industries.
Oral Presentations in Technical Program
In addition to participating in the Exhibition, Aquatech executives will present two papers as part of the Technical Program. Mr. Tseng will present “Cost Effective Solution of Waste Water Reuse & ZLD in CTX with Reference in China,” TIAN13-386, which he co-authored with Arun Mittal, Dave Kersey and Charles Desportes. Charles Desportes, Director of Thermal Desalination, will present “Experience and Operating Feed Back after 7 Years of Operation of a 10,000 m³/d MED Plant,” TIAN 13-254, which he authored.
“The IDA World Congress is one of the most important water industry events in the world. We look forward to this opportunity to increase awareness of our extensive capabilities and experience as well as our growing presence in China, one of the world’s most important emerging markets for desalination and water reuse,” said Mr. Tseng.
