SHARJAH, May 15, 2012 – Aquatech, a global leader in water purification technology for industrial and infrastructure markets, is participating in three sessions at the upcoming Global Water: Oil & Gas Summit, which takes place May 22-23 at the Madinat Jumeirah – Mina A’ Salam in Dubai. The Summit is being held under the Royal Patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, and is partnered by the Ministry of Environment & Water, Supreme Council of Energy, Government of Dubai and supported by Global Water Intelligence, The International World Water Council & The Produced Water Society.
Vikrant Sarin, Manager – Technical & Business Development (Industrial Solutions) for Aquatech Eastern (FZE) will chair a session on Produced Water, to be held on May 22 from 1:45- 3:00 pm. The session focused on produced water technologies and techniques to increase the efficiency and economics of projects. Discussion points will include:
- Sustainable produced water management in the Nimr oil field of Oman
- The nexus between energy and water
- Water management in oil and gas
Later that afternoon, he will also lead a session on Water Usage in Shale, highlighting best practices, requirements and water recycling in shale operations. Included in the topics to be covered are:
- Recycling produced water from shale fracturing
- Treatment and process opportunities
- The challenge of water disposal
On the following day, Peter Dencher, Managing Director, Aquatech B.V., will present “Treating Produced Water from Conventional and Unconventional Oil & Gas” in the session Maturing Fields & Heavy Oil. This session, which takes place on May 23 from 2:00-3:00 pm, focuses on practices, opportunities and water usage in maturing fields and heavy oil production.
Aquatech has also been nominated for Company of the Year, which recognizes excellence in the oil & gas sector. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on May 22.
