In the United States shale gas dominates, whereas in Australia it is coal seam gas — commonly referred to as CSG. Whether we are talking about shale gas or CSG, the benefits of tapping such a valuable energy source are often overshadowed by public concerns about hydraulic fracturing and the disposal of water resulting from natural gas well development and production.
